The WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod is celebrating its 25th year with BREC this year. When the Eisteddfod was reformed in 1958 to the Bunbury Music Festival, no one realised just how much it would take off. At that stage the event had only 137 entrants - this year, there is well over 2000.
The Eisteddfod used various venues around Bunbury until the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre was built in 1991. The Eisteddfod acknowledges the contribution that BREC makes to enable the event to continue to use its facilities.
As an iconic event in the City of Bunbury, the WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod continues to provide opportunities for performers of all ages, gender and abilities to experience the rare opportunity of performing on stage in a professional theatre. It is the largest Eisteddfod in
Western Australia and is a proven asset not only to the City of Bunbury and South West Region, but also BREC and the broader community. The WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod looks forward to a continued association with BREC and trusts all our competitors and their families and friends will continue to patronise BREC and enjoy not only watching and participating in the Eisteddfod but also watching and listening to the other fabulous acts and performers that BREC brings into the City.
