If you are among those attending Flickerfest at BREC on Friday night, you are in for a treat! The event is being held in our new function rooms upstairs, providing a 'sneak peek' of our new building.
Come along from 7.15pm on the night, grab a drink at the new Sky Bar and enjoy a demonstration from Bunbury's own Dr. Electric, who is also the subject of an ABC Open short screening before the main film program. The short was directed by Bunbury resident Ruslan Kulski.
Celebrating 23 years of short film excellence, Flickerfest remains one of Australia's leading short film festivals. This year, Flickerfest is bringing its 'Spectacular Short Films With Soul' to BREC with a smorgasbord of shorts screening as part of the Best of Australian Shorts programme.
The programme showing on the night features 8 shorts, including Vote Yes, Tango Underpants and The Chuck In. Also in attendance on the night will be Tango Underpants director Miranda Edmonds, who will introduced her film which stars the South West's Emma Booth.
Flickerfest is Australia's leading Academy® accredited and BAFTA recognised short film festival, ensuring that it continues to present A-list short film programmes recognised amongst the best in the world. Over 2300 entries were received for Flickerfest 2014, and only the top 120 shorts have been selected in official competition, all handpicked to represent the most innovative, creative and cutting edge short films being produced in the world today.
Tickets can be pre-purchased here, by calling 1300 661 272 or at the Box Office. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night.
